Reunions!

There are some reunions in the works, the 50-year(!) reunion for 1955, the 40-year reunion for 1965, and the 10-year reunion for 1995. I'll post details as I get them. For now, this is what I know:

- 1995 has a Yahoo! group located at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/jdhs95reunion

- The Class of '65 reunion committee chair is Arlene Crumrine (Weisenberg). She can be reached at arlenec@alaska.com.

NBA All-Star Voting!

Just thought that since we have a JDHS alumni who just happens to be in the NBA, you all might be interested in knowing about and participating in the 2005 All-Star balloting. You can do so online by going to the NBA.com All-Star 2005 Ballot.

(If you don't watch basketball but would still like to support Carlos, he can be found in the Forwards column for the Western conference.)

Distribution

If you've ever wondered how far-flung JDHS graduates are, check out these maps:

- World
- North America

There are JDHSGrads.com members on 4 out of 7 continents and in 47 out of 50 states. Delaware, North Dakota, and West Virginia are the only states without at least one member.

New News

Alright, just wanted to give you all a heads up that there's something big in the planning stages, some may find it good, some may not. I'm basically going to revamp the site to require a password for profile additions/updates. Before you sigh too hard about having to remember yet another password, there are some great benefits: the username and password will allow you access to all parts of the site (i.e.

VOTE, dang it!

I got my "I Voted Today" sticker - have you? If not, get your butt down to your polling location and vote!

New profile submission rules

I feel like the producers of Fox after the Super Bowl halftime show 'wardrobe malfunction'...

Due to some dishonest folks taking advantage of the non-password protected profile add/update feature to mess with people's information, I have now implemented 1) an e-mail confirmation and 2) a 24-hour delay (hence the Super Bowl comparison!).

BAD E-mail Addys / Live Chat

Okay, we currently have 194 old, mistyped, or just plain bad e-mail addresses out of the 1,759 members registered here. That means more than 10% of JDHSGrads.com members are unreachable! If you could take a second and scroll through the bad e-mail list, I would greatly appreciate it. If you see yourself or someone you know on the list, just get me the corrected info. Thanks!

Layout Changes

Wow, it's been a while since I've posted something here!

Well, you might have noticed some minor layout changes - over in the upper right is now a mini-guestbook, the shoutbox. Feel free to say hi or whatever you want, within reason! I've been thinking about adding a realtime chat script to complement the forum, but don't know if it'd see much use. If you'd REALLY like a realtime chatroom here, shoot me an e-mail or use the shoutbox over there and let me know.

Oh yeah, we still need $775 for the scholarship! C'mon, we can do it!

Mr. Boozer Visits Juneau

Jason Soza and Carlos BoozerYup, the dork in the tie on the left is me and the non-dork on the right is the most famous JDHSGrads.com member I've ever met, Carlos Boozer. He was in town for an event sponsored by Sprite and by the time I arrived at 3:00pm, there was a sizable line, showing Carlos' popularity here.

Fire!

You may have heard or read about yesterday's fire that decimated the Endicott Building (the 100+ year old building that housed Subway and Dragon Inn, among other businesses), here are some photos for those interested in how it looked:
