I just got an update from UAS on the status of the JDHSGrads.com Crimson Bear Spirit Scholarship - we're up to $2,300 now!

Please, please, PLEASE - if you can afford to make a small donation towards this scholarship, we can have it ready to roll for the Spring '05 semester. We're 3/4 of the way there, just a little more!

JDHSGrads.com is getting closer and closer to that 2,000th member. That'll be a pretty awesome milestone, considering we were at just 1,400 members last January and 1,600 last June.

So, if you know someone that went to JDHS and you don't see their name on the site, tell them about it!

Oh yeah - we hit another milestone about a month ago, but it's more of a geeky milestone: 1 million hits in 2005. That's not bad for a little site like JDHSGrads.com. Go Crimson Bears!

The class of 1975 is in the initial stages of planning its 30-year reunion. It will be held in Juneau at the Juneau Yacht Club (not the Moose club as originally planned) in an hors d'oeuvre format on Saturday, July 2nd. Prices will likely be set shortly before the event and fees gathered at the door. The plan is for this to be a casual, low-key event and is the currently the only event planned.

The reunion committee needs additional people to help with planning and contacting classmates.

It's spring time here in Juneau - can't argue with the 60+ temps we've had lately!

Of course, with spring time comes the looming graduation of the class of '05. Fun times, definitely!

Anyhow, we're creeping up on 2,000 members. That's a pretty big milestone and it will be interesting to see how we get there. Will it be a big membership surge from one of the classes celebrating a reunion this year? Or will the classes of '03 and '04 start trickling in looking for old friends? It will be cool to watch, so stay tuned - go Crimson Bears!

The Juneau Douglas Classes of 1955 will hold their 50th reunion June 30, July 1, and July 2, 2005. There will be a dinner at the Moose Club, a Four Seasons Whale Watching Tour and dinner and the finale on Saturday will be a 50 mile bike ride, all ages and all classes are invited to join in for the ride. So, some really bad timing led to another outage!

There are some things that are still a bit weird... Some images not showing up, weird dates and the like, but absolutely no data was lost - no lost accounts, messages, etc.

It turned out a lot better than it could have. I do apologize for the outage, but hey, 36 hours of downtime out of around 7,200 hours isn't too bad!

Just wanted to make a note to remind folks that you do not need to have graduated from JDHS in order to sign up here.

If you went to JDHS for a couple of years, or even were supposed to go to JDHS but moved before you got a chance to, go ahead and create an account! If nothing else, you'll get to send private messages to the people you knew and let everyone else know where you're at now!

If you've been a fan of Juneau-Douglas Crimson Bear football, you no doubt are aware of their great coach, Reilly Richey, and his recent illness.

Reilly passed away at around 3:45pm today, back home here in Juneau. Please take a moment to think of him and his family.
