Disappointed

I really dislike using JDHSGrads.com to voice my own opinion, but I cannot help but share my utter frustration with the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee's decision to decline the waiver proposal submitted by the Juneau Youth Football League to have the stadium at Adair-Kennedy named after Reilly Richey.
The proposal sought to have the 12-month waiting could be waived so that the naming ceremony could happen at this season's first home game.
I cannot dream up any reason to not have unanimous support for such a waiver. I was neither coached nor taught by Mr. Richey, but it's obvious by the community's response after his passing that he deserves some recognition for what he's done. He certainly does not deserve bureaucratic hangups.
So, write a letter to the CBJ Parks and Recreation department and urge them to reconsider the decision. This is Juneau, we can do this.
